Keep Learning, Keep Smiling

Hi everyone! Sorry I’ve been MIA lately. Since we got back from Vancouver, I’ve been doing a lot of shoveling everyday. Finally got a break this week and the snow is starting to melt . Check it:

I’ve also been busy trying to finish up a guest post for my dear friend and fellow food blogger, Mary. Please join me on her blog this week over at Keep Learning, Keep Smiling for my guest post. Don’t forget to check out Mary’s blog while you’re there. She has fantastic dishes and is also one of the nicest people you could meet in this blogosphere. Hope to see you there. Thanks for stopping by everyone!

I am heading over now too…can’t believe the snow! I am going to Minneapolis tomorrow – is this what I’m in for? I’m terrified!

Our snow pile may be as high as yours but we are experiencing a little january thaw right now. Tomorrow’s high will be above freezing. It’ll be messy!

Lovely guest post over at Mary’s. All your dishes look wonderful. Love the presentation on the Wagamama chicken noodles 🙂 Have a great weekend!

But I heard Vancouver has less snow this winter compared to New York :O

Nice soup – perfect for Chinese New Year.

Shoveling snow three times a day? That’s a lot of work! I’m heading to your guest post now!

LeQuan, thanks very much for the wonderful guest post you wrote for my blog…a total fun read! Love the pictures, too…beautiful. What a way to make people feel cold through your snow picture and then a hot soup to warm them up…haha. I’m sure your girl feel very happy to see her picture on my blog for the world to see! I love it. You need to help me and Sharon give her more BIG hugs! 😀 She is so sweet and adorable….your son, too. Hope one day he will draw for me.

      Mary,

Thank YOU for this opportunity! Yes, K was very excited to see her picture on your blog. She doesn’t understand what a blog is yet, but was amazed that her picture hopped into the computer. Haha. I have already given her big hugs from you and Sharon. This was a wonderful adventure for me. I had much fun writing this guest post. Until next time my dear friend.

  8. 9 Sharon January 28, 2011 at 5:21 am

Omg LeQuan, your daughter’s drawing is the cutest EVER. Give her a big thank you hug for me because I absolutely LOVE it. She draws so well for a 4 year-old! I could barely draw worms at her age lol. I’m so glad you liked the Wagamama ramen! I said on my mom’s blog that yours looked much better than mine! Thanks for trying it out, you’re the first person to try any of my recipes :). And can I just say that I loooooove the soup you made. You have no idea, it’s one of my MOST favourite soups. How it’s thick-ish with egg beaten through it. My sister and I love to order it everytime we go to a Chinese restaurant to eat. They call it sweet corn soup and don’t have much other stuff in it. But I love asparagus and crabmeat and I think your soup is simply divine! Something else for me to try out :D.

I’m glad my mom actually posted your guest post. She told me I had to wait a week and wouldn’t even let slip what you wrote or even let me SEE the photos! Will you believe the cheek!

    • 10 lequan January 28, 2011 at 11:35 pm

      Sharon,

I already gave K big hugs for you and Mary. She had fun drawing the picture. Like I said to Mary though, I helped her with the butterflies. You can see she is still trying to learn to keep her hands steady.

I love this soup at restaurants too. That’s why I decided to make my own version at home. Sometimes I will thicken it up with cornstarch and water mixture if I find it too runny. Depends on my mood that day. Haha.

I’m sure Mary just wanted to surprise you. I will talk to her about the cheekiness. Lol.

Kids drawings are the most adorable. Some kids I used to babysit would draw pictures for me and I’d keep them in a little scrapbook. I hope you keep them for her till she’s older! 😀 And we’ll see a whole parade of them when she starts blogging lol. And she’ll complain about how her mom is a hoarder and keeps every SINGLE thing but be secretly happy that she did haha.

Best part about making a homemade version of restaurant food is that you can change it to be EXACTLY what you want. Plus it’s cleaner haha. And yes, do talk to my mom. Tell her we can’t be having this kind of behaviour LOL ;).

Hi Le Quan, I can feel the crunchy sound of packed snow and ice under my feet when I look at your photo! Things are really different here in California, we’ve been having warm temperatures for this time of year. I’m going over to Marys to check out your post, congratulations on doing a guest post and best wishes to stay warm until the snow melts;-)

Fantastic guest post, LQ!!!! Love the crab on top of the salmon. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t have any beautiful crab like that “left over” waiting to be used somewhere. MY! Brilliant little idea. But, the pizza is the one that stole my heart. I adore homemade pizzas. So delicious and nutritious. Did K like her half? That half shouldn’t be too spicy for her???
And then, the soup – and the other soup!
You are the QUEEN of guest bloggers – ONE recipe is usually what people do – but not you! 🙂 🙂 🙂
I LOVED the idea of the leftovers on pizza – or any idea of how to use leftovers is Brilliant. I will try to think of that to include in my future posts.
So, was that the Olive Oil Flat bread recipe you used for your pizza dough? I thought you had never made bread before? It looks FAN-FLIPPIN-TASTIC!!!
    🙂
    XO
    Valerie

Oh look at all that snow! I wish I could send you a package of Austin sunshine to melt that all away. We hit 70 degrees F today! And now I’m eager to check out your guest post. Thank you for sharing, sweetheart. I hope you have a happy Saturday. Hugs and love!

It’s A-Ok that you’re busy, LeeQs! You’ve had a lot to do – and anyway, I can still stalk you on FB, teeeeeheeeeee! 😀 I’m on my way over to check out your guest post!!

Oh, and that’s a lot of snow. I thought we had a lot, but I think you have us beat (and we have an unusual snow year – I bet you have that much every year!).

  18. 21 Faith January 30, 2011 at 12:24 pm

Isn’t it a happy day when temps reach the 30’s this time of year, lol? I just read your guest post on Mary’s blog…everything looks delicious! The salmon pizza is really calling my name though. 😉 And what a sweet drawing from your daughter!

  19. 22 Stella January 30, 2011 at 4:02 pm

Awe, LeQuanis. That is so much work. I can’t even imagine, and I don’t want to b/c I’m horrible at out doors type of work. Whenever I do that type of stuff to help out, people are like ‘just don’t worry about it, Stella. Maybe you should go do something else’. Hope the weather gets better there soon. It seems like it should…

Okay, I’m going over to Mary’s place to see your post right now!
    XOXO
